Meet your instructor!
Hi! I’m Lisa! I’m a licensed and certified speech-language pathologist (SLP) with over 25 years of experience working with children. I’m also a mom to two pretty amazing daughters!
I became an SLP because I am passionate about helping children communicate with confidence. I also find tremendous joy in supporting families through their child’s communication journey.
I decided to become a Happy Talk Instructor so that I could offer parents and caregivers a joyful and safe space to learn new skills, connect with others in their community, and bond with their little ones. As a parent and a speech pathologist I know how important play, music, and connection with others is for language development. I also know that parents and caregivers can easily support early communication development in fun and meaningful ways every day! This playful class is hopefully where you will begin to see your little one’s communication flourish!

We have two class options.
Tinies (5-24 months): This class includes songs, signs, and sensory play. Daily routines become easier and more fun after taking this class! Bond with your baby and make new friends in a welcoming, no judgement space. Learn expert tips for boosting language skills. This class is perfect for little ones who are sitting, crawling, exploring and soaking it all in!
Tots (18 months - 3 years): This class includes songs, signs, and sensory play to support language and early literacy skills. Each exciting class has a new theme, like Over the Rainbow, Get Outside, Wild Child, and Big Feelings. Engage in motor and sensory activities that will leave your child asking for MORE! This class is perfect for the bigger toddlers who love to move.

Each class is 45 minutes - There is 10-15 minutes built into every class for play and connection, followed by structured time to learn, sing, and engage as a group.

Happy Talk classes are led by certified speech-language pathologists. Each class is designed to support early language development through music, signs, and sensory play. These classes are for enrichment purposes only and are NOT a substitute for speech and language therapy. In Happy Talk classes we focus on connection and communication while having lots of fun! Leave each class with tools to help you support your child’s communication skills during the week!

Yes! Happy Talk classes are for parents/caregivers and children. Your little one will get so much more out of each class if they see YOU engaged and having fun! Remember, this is a no-judgement zone. And no prior singing skills are required! Just come and have fun!

Happy Talk classes are intentionally designed for specific age groups to support safety, engagement, and a positive experience for all families.
We understand that childcare isn’t always available, so sibling attendance may be permitted on a case-by-case basis when:
-There is adequate space in the class
-The sibling can remain with their caregiver
-The overall class experience will not be disrupted
If a class is at or near capacity, siblings may require registration as a paid spot or may not be able to attend.
We always recommend reaching out ahead of time so we can find the best option for your family.

Come as you are! This is a very supportive environment. Be prepared to sing, play, laugh, and connect with other caregivers and little ones who are at the same stage in life!

Registration reserves your child’s spot for the full 8-week session. Full refunds are available up to 7 days before the first class; after that, registrations are non-refundable, including missed classes or withdrawals. If an unexpected family circumstance comes up, please reach out—we’ll do our best to work with you when we can. If we need to cancel a class, we’ll provide a make-up class or an appropriate credit/refund.
